Plant Growing Tips

Where to Grow

Mother-in-Law's Tongue, also known as Snake Plant, thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate low light conditions. It is an excellent choice for indoor environments such as offices and homes with minimal sunlight.

Climate

This plant prefers warm, dry conditions. It grows best in temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. Keep it away from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C, as it is sensitive to cold weather.

Soil Type

Plant Mother-in-Law's Tongue in well-draining soil. A cactus or succulent potting mix with added perlite or sand will ensure proper drainage and prevent root rot.

Fertilizer

Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilising in the autumn and winter when the plant's growth slows down.

Plant Care

Watering

Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Water sparingly, roughly every 2-3 weeks, adjusting based on temperature and humidity levels.

Pruning

Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves to keep the plant neat and encourage healthy growth. While pruning isn’t essential, occasional trimming helps maintain a well-shaped appearance.
