Cordyline fruticosa, also known as Ti Plant, thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight. It is suitable for indoor environments and can be grown outdoors in tropical or subtropical climates. Ensure it is protected from strong winds and heavy frost.
Cordyline fruticosa prefers a warm, tropical to subtropical climate. It grows well in temperatures ranging between 18-27°C. Protect the plant from temperatures below 10°C and frost, as it is not frost-tolerant.
Use a well-draining, fertile soil mix. A combination of garden soil, compost, and perlite or sand is ideal. Ensure the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot.
Fertilise Cordyline fruticosa every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter when the plant's growth slows down.
