Honey Rose “Babybino” is a true dwarf Bougainvillea with pretty dusty pink flowers and a low spreading habit . Great as a ground cover spreading up to 1.5m wide and 50cm – 1m in height.
Requiring a warm to hot sunny position “Honey Rose” will benefit from a light prune after each flush of flowers.
A liquid feed can also be given after each pruning or a slow release fertiliser applied at the start of Spring and end of Summer.
Honey Rose 'Babybino' Bougainvillea thrives in full sun. This compact variety is ideal for small gardens, courtyards, and containers. It can also be used as a low hedge or ground cover. Choose a location with well-draining soil and good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
Honey Rose 'Babybino' Bougainvillea prefers a warm, subtropical to tropical climate. It can tolerate light frost once established but should be protected from severe frost and cold winds. Ideal temperatures range between 15-30°C. In cooler regions, consider growing it in a pot that can be moved indoors during winter.
Plant Honey Rose 'Babybino' Bougainvillea in well-draining soil. Sandy or loamy soils enriched with organic matter are ideal. This plant can tolerate poorer soils but will perform best in nutrient-rich conditions. Ensure the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged to avoid root rot.
Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. During the blooming season, use a high-potassium liquid fertiliser to promote vibrant flowers. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers as they encourage foliage growth over flowers. Over-fertilising should be avoided to prevent root damage.
