Commonly known as “Grape Ivy” Cissus Ellen Danica is a vigorous growing tendril vine that has large green leaves similar to a grape vine.
It can be trained in a trellis or grown indoors in a hanging basket where it will cascade down. The new growth is a pale bronze colour with soft hairy stems.
Great as an indoor plant in a hanging basket in a bright position. Can be grown outside but wont like the intensity of full Summer sun here in Queensland.
Morning sun would be best.
Keep well watered in summer. Fertilise with slow release at the start of Spring or liquid feed monthly during the warmer months.
Cissus 'Ellen Danica' thrives in bright, indirect light but can also adapt to lower light conditions. It's perfect for indoor settings or shaded outdoor areas. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
This plant prefers warm and humid environments, typical of tropical and subtropical regions. It grows best in temperatures between 18°C and 28°C. Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.
Plant Cissus 'Ellen Danica' in well-draining soil. A mix of standard indoor potting soil combined with perlite or coarse sand will ensure adequate drainage while retaining some moisture.
Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilising in the autumn and winter when the plant's growth slows down.
