Plant Growing Tips

Where to Grow

Mimi 'Babybino' Bougainvillea thrives in full sun. This compact variety is perfect for small gardens, courtyards, and containers. It can also be used as a low hedge or ground cover. Choose a spot with well-draining soil and ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.

Climate

Mimi 'Babybino' Bougainvillea prefers a warm, subtropical to tropical climate. It can handle light frost once established but should be protected from severe frost and cold winds. Ideal temperatures range between 15-30°C. In cooler regions, consider growing it in a pot that can be moved indoors during winter.

Soil Type

This Bougainvillea variety thrives in well-draining soil. Sandy or loamy soils with good organic matter are ideal. While it can tolerate poorer soils, it will produce the best blooms in nutrient-rich conditions. Ensure the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged to avoid root rot.

Fertilizer

Fertilise your Mimi 'Babybino' Bougainvillea with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. During the blooming season, use a high-potassium liquid fertiliser to promote vibrant flowers. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers as they encourage foliage growth over flowering.
