Lilly Pilly - Resilience

Lilly Pilly – Resilience

Syzygium australe.

Lilly Pilly “Resilience’ is a versatile native plant that is great for hedging and screening, growing approximately 3m tall in full sun or part shade.

Resilience is named accordingly due to its resilience to many pests and diseases.

The new growth gives all year round colour along with white flowers and crimson coloured berries, which will attract birds into your garden.

Lilly Pilly Resilience responds well to pruning and will tolerate a wide range of soils and conditions, but will perform best in moist but well drained soil in full sun to part shade.

Please note: Many plants on our website are seasonal and may not be available all year round. Please contact your nearest store to check current availability

Plant Growing Tips

Where to Grow

Lilly Pilly 'Resilience' thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is suitable for growing in gardens, as a hedge, screen, or feature plant. Ensure the location has well-draining soil and good air circulation to prevent disease.

Climate

Lilly Pilly 'Resilience' prefers a warm, temperate to subtropical climate. It can tolerate light frost once established but should be protected from severe frost and cold winds. Ideal temperatures range between 10-30°C.

Soil Type

Use a well-draining soil. Sandy or loamy soils with good organic matter are ideal. This plant is tolerant of poor soils but will thrive in richer conditions. Ensure the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged.

Fertilizer

Fertilise your Lilly Pilly 'Resilience' with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. Additional feeding can be done during the growing season with a liquid fertiliser if the plant appears to need a boost.
