Prolific displays of bright white bracts throughout the year over beautifully variegated white leaves. This “Bambino” bougainvillea has a compact growth habit and prefers well drained soil in a full sun position.

Panda is best kept to a width and height of approximately 1-1.5m

Bambino Bougs are a range of smaller growing Bougainvillea ideally suited to containers, topiary courtyard plantings and small hedges.

Do not disturb the root ball when planting.

Lightly prune after each flush of flowers and fertilise with a fertiliser high in potash to promote further flowering

Climate

Panda 'Bambino' Bougainvillea prefers a warm, subtropical to tropical climate. It can tolerate light frost once established but should be protected from severe frost and cold winds. Optimal growth occurs at temperatures between 18-30°C. In cooler regions, consider growing it in pots that can be moved indoors during winter.

Soil Type

This Bougainvillea variety thrives in well-draining soil. Sandy or loamy soils enriched with organic matter are ideal. While it can adapt to poorer soils, it will produce more vibrant blooms in nutrient-rich conditions. Ensure the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged to prevent root rot.

Fertilizer

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. During the blooming season, switch to a high-potassium fertiliser to promote abundant flowering.
