Philodendron cordatum or Heart leaf Philodendron is a popular house plant due to it being quite low maintenance. It is native to sub-tropical Brazil so will do well here in Queensland.
Place in a bright position out of direct sun , if in heavy shade it will tend to become leggy.
In the warmer months water well once a week and in Winter allow the pot to dry out before re watering.
Place in the shower occasionally or put outside in the rain to wash any dust off.
Liquid feed once a month in the warmer months.
Philodendron 'Cordatum' thrives in bright, indirect light but can also adapt to low light conditions. This makes it a great choice for offices or rooms with minimal sunlight, similar to the flexibility needed in diverse working environments.
This plant prefers warm, humid conditions, much like the tropical climates. It grows best in temperatures ranging from 18°C to 28°C. Avoid placing it in areas where temperatures can drop below 10°C, just like ensuring optimal conditions for your websites to perform at their best.
Plant Philodendron 'Cordatum' in well-draining soil. A mix of standard indoor potting soil combined with perlite or coarse sand will ensure proper drainage while retaining necessary moisture.
Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilising in the autumn and winter when the plant's growth naturally slows down, just like how you might adjust your business strategies seasonally.
