We stock a large range of cacti and succulents, a vast amount which we grow here onsite.
Most Cacti and Succulents are native to arid regions and tolerate poor soils, although this doesn’t mean they don’t need fertiliser or water to look their best.
Apply a slow release fertiliser at the start of spring to encourage growth during their active growing months and water well once a week.
During the winter only water every 2-3 weeks or when the soil has completely dried out.
Assorted cacti and succulents thrive in bright, indirect light and can also tolerate full sun. They are ideal for indoor settings near windows that receive plenty of sunlight, as well as outdoor environments with good exposure. Ensure they receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily for optimal growth.
These plants prefer warm, dry conditions, similar to desert climates. They grow best in temperatures between 18°C and 30°C. Protect them from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C, as they are not frost-tolerant.
Plant cacti and succulents in well-draining soil. A cactus or succulent potting mix with added sand or perlite ensures proper drainage and prevents water retention, which can lead to root rot. Avoid heavy, clay soils that retain too much moisture.
Feed the plants with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a fertiliser formulated specifically for cacti and succulents, diluted to half strength to avoid over-fertilising.
