Crassula Ovata is an attractive succulent with fleshy oval shaped leaves and small white star shaped flowers during the winter.
Crassula is mainly grown as a potted plant but is also useful in garden beds in hot dry areas.
It is a very hardy low maintenance plant requiring very little water.
Will grow indoors in a well lit position.
Liquid feed once in Spring ,Summer and Autumn to keep the foliage lush and green.
Can grow up to 1m x 1m
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, about once every 2-3 weeks, and reduce watering further during cooler months. Use well-draining soil to avoid root rot caused by overwatering.
Prune as necessary to shape the plant or control its size. Removing dead or damaged leaves not only keeps the plant looking tidy but also promotes healthier growth. Pruning can encourage a bushier appearance.
Check regularly for pests such as mealybugs and spider mites. Treat infestations swiftly using insecticidal soap or neem oil. Maintaining good air circulation around the plant helps prevent fungal problems and keeps the environment healthy.
