We stock a range of indoor and shade loving bromeliads, as well as the giant sun loving varieties. If your after a great gift or house plant, the brightly coloured flowering varieties are ideal. We have Bromeliads in stock all year round as we grow a large number here onsite.
Bromeliads thrive in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate lower light conditions. They can be grown both indoors and outdoors. When grown indoors, place them near a bright window. Outdoors, they do well in a shaded or partially shaded location.
Bromeliads prefer a warm, humid environment. Ideal temperatures range between 15-30°C. They can tolerate a range of conditions but should be protected from frost and cold temperatures below 10°C.
Use a well-draining, lightweight soil mix. A combination of orchid bark, peat, and perlite works well. Bromeliads can also be grown as epiphytes, attached to trees or other structures, using sphagnum moss as a base.
Fertilise your Bromeliad every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser. Apply the fertiliser to the central cup of the plant. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter when the plant's growth slows down.
