Bambino Bougs are a range of smaller growing Bougainvillea ideally suited to pots ,topiary, small hedges and smaller gardens.
They are very hardy once established.
Siggi 'Bambino' Bougainvillea thrives in full sun. This compact variety is perfect for small gardens, courtyards, and containers. It can also be used as a decorative ground cover or trained along trellises and fences. Select a planting location with well-draining soil and good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
Siggi 'Bambino' Bougainvillea thrives in warm, subtropical to tropical climates. It can tolerate light frost once established but should be protected from severe frost and cold winds. The optimal temperature range for growth is between 18-30°C. In cooler climates, consider planting it in pots that can be moved indoors during winter.
This Bougainvillea variety prefers well-draining soil. Sandy or loamy soils enriched with organic matter are ideal. While it can adapt to poorer soils, it will produce more vibrant blooms in nutrient-rich conditions. Ensure the soil remains moderately moist but not waterlogged to prevent root rot.
Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. During the blooming season, switch to a high-potassium fertiliser to encourage abundant flowering. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers as they can lead to excessive foliage growth at the expense of flowers. Be cautious not to over-fertilise, as this can damage the roots.
